Carrington
brought
the
clock's
movement
with
him
from
England
in
1841
and
the
case
was
made
in
New
Plymouth
by
carpenter
Jonathan
Pearn,
using
wood
from
a
puketea
tree
that
grew
on
the
corner
of
King
and
Egmont
Street.
Taranaki
Museum
purchased
the
clock
from
the
massive
collection
of
Fred
Butler.
