One bound volume of The Illustrated Sydney News, 3 February 1855-30 June 1855. Potentially presented to William Seffern after he completed work for the paper.
The front cover has two letters adhered to the inside:
"Illustrated Sydney News Office
[Jan?] 12th 1855
Mr Seffern is authorised to act as Overseer in the Compositors department of the office and all matters of dispute are to be under his control, as far as regards questions of the distribution of copy, fall & c.

To Mr Seffern and the Compositors in the employment of the [?] of the I.S. News,
It having been determined [?] to carry on the paper after the termination of the present quarter, I have to give you notice that your services will not be required after June 30th 1855.
