"His Excellency R.H. Wynyard C.B."
Copy photograph of original bust portrait of his Excellency General Robert Henry Wynyard, C.B. (1801-1864), 58th (Rutlandshire) Regiment. As stated in the caption to the photograph Wynyard was the "Superintendant of the Province of Auckland, Commander of the Troops, & Officer administering the Govt. of New Zealand 1855." Wynyard is seated with his left arm leaning on the back of a chair. He is wearing a dark jacket with layered detailing down the front over a shirt and bow tie. He has short hair and full sideburns. The photograph is included on page 43 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
