Description
Glass plate negative showing the view from the roof of Brooklands, the King family home. Imediately below the building is an area of dense trees and foliage and beyond are fenced fields with cows and sheep. Below the horizon line to the right is another building, the Saxton family home on Carrington Street (then known as Carrington Road). The Brooklands estate was gifted to the council in trust for the people of the region on 10 March 1934 and now overlooks the Bowl of Brooklands.
