Description
A 1939-1945 War Commemorative Medal (Medaille Commemorative de la Guerre de 1939-1945). The irregularly shaped hexagonal bronze medal features a cross of Lorraine with a Gallic cockerel in the foregrounds standing on a chain. " REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE GUERRE 1939 1945 " surrounding a small laurel branch is marked on the reverse. The medal is attached to a wide pale blue ribbon edged with green stripes edged with red and a central column of red 'v's'. " LIBERATION " is marked on a white metal bar attached to the ribbon.
