Copy photograph of brothers Captain Robert Glover and Ensign Frederick Glover, 43rd Regiment. Both men were killed in battle at Gate Pa in April 1864. Captain Glover has thick sideburns and is sitting in a chair with his legs crossed. He is wearing a dark coat and light trousers. Ensign Glover is clean-shaven and is standing with his right hand on the back of the chair and a hat in his left hand. He is also wearing a dark coat and light trousers. Both men are looking off to their left. The photograph is included on page 33 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
