Description
An Italian Commemorative Medal of the Spanish Campaign. The circular bronze medal features a naked, sword wielding figure on horseback and a winged figure of Victory leading the hose with a laurel wreath in her other hand. A serpent, a hammer, and a sickle are being trodden underfoot. " GUERRA POR / LA LIBERACION / Y UNIDAD DE / ESPAÑA /17 JULIO 1936 " is marked on the reverse with a winged head above and a Spanish set of crowned arms below. A map of Spain is visible in the background. An integral ribbon bar fixes a red, yellow and black striped ribbon to the medal.
