Biography
Henry Robert Richmond arrived in Taranaki from Auckland in 1852. After settling in New Plymouth he became involved in the town's political and social activities. In 1865 he was elected Superintendent of Taranaki, a position he held until 1869. He acted briefly as schoolmaster before turning to a career in law. He qualified as a barrister and solicitor and practised in New Plymouth up until his death in 1891.
