Biography
Born in Ireland, John Coleman Moore was a bachelor who lived on a farm on Kohuratahi Road. A soldier settler from the First World War. (1st NZEF, Trooper, Wellington Mounted Rifles) Moore walked off the land and it is assumed he went to live in New Plymouth.
John Coleman Moore was resident at Kohuratahi until 1955. He died 16 October 1961 at Onerahi Private Hospital, Whangarei aged 93 years. He is buried in the Te Henui Soldiers Cemetery, New Plymouth.
