Biography
In June 2000, Terry Parkes and Chris Herlihy opened the Nice Hotel and Bistro in an old historic house (built c1860) on the corner of Vivian and Brougham Streets, New Plymouth. The interior rennovation created six double bedrooms with luxury ensuites upstairs, and private dining rooms, kitchen, the main bistro area, a deck for outdoor entertainment and relaxation and the detailing of a refined eclectic atmosphere downstairs.
In November 2000 the Western Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architecture awarded the Hotel colour and architecture awards.
Architect: Paul Goldsmith.
