Biography
Dr Rex Carrington Brewster of New Plymouth embarked with the 12th Reinforcements New Zealand Medical Corps, No. 2 Field Ambulance Reinforcements on 6 May 1916. He served as a medical officer in Palestine. In 1920 Dr Brewster met Monica Govett on board the ‘Kagoma’, when Monica and her mother, Frances Govett were returning to New Zealand from European trip. The couple married at Saint John’s Church, in Wanganui on the 21 September 1920. The couple lived in New Plymouth at a house on 234 Devon Street East, New Plymouth from 1927-1950. Dr Brewster died in 1952. The couple had no children.
