Biography
Factory manager at Otakeho, a noted historian, naturalist and "scholar" of Maori life, a secretary of the Otakeho school committee, cemetary board and Anglican church, a church warden and member of the Manaia Masonic Lodge.
He got involved with his Maori employees and was tutored by the elders in the art of carving and language. He used to search for Maori artefacts, many of which were returned to the tribes from which they were found.
