Biography
Moa-nui Co-operative was an amalgamation of Moa Company, Bell Block-Clifton and Lepperton Company in 1980, making Moa-nui the sixth largest dairy co-operative in New Zealand. The company had a supply area that stretched from Awakino in the north, Tataraimaka on the coast and Tariki in the south. Factory amalgamation was a popular move for the dairy co-operatives from around 1960s; since its creation in 1980, Moa-nui had been a part of two more amalgamations until it became a part of Fonterra in 2001.
