Biography
After 8 years of working for Cadbury Brothers in England, James Henry Whittaker arrived in New Zealand to start a local confectionary business. By 1896 Whittaker was making his own confectionary in Christchurch, delivering it by horse and cart to the shop keepers and in the 1930s Whittaker’s purchased their first chocolate-making plant. The factory is till family owned.
