Anne Holliday was born in 1961 in Johannesburg, South Africa and lived there until 2001 when she moved to New Plymouth, New Zealand. She studied at the Johannesburg Art Foundation where she received a Diploma in Graphic Design and at the University of the Witwatersrand where she received a BA Fine Arts degree. She has several paintings in the Gencor Collection in Johannesburg and a painting in the National Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa. Since moving to New Plymouth she has had numerous exhibitions and has won a number of prizes, including prizes at the Taranaki Society of Arts' Miniature and Small Painting Awards in 2006 and 2007, and the top prize for painting at the 2012 Taranaki Art Awards.
