Brian Scadden
Biography
Brian Scadden has worked in film since 1976, firstly for the New Zealand National Film Unit until it ceased to exist in the late 1980s, then for Park Road Post as a post production coordinator and lab manager. He began experimenting with the Victorian wet-plate photographic process in the 1980s and still works with the process today. In 1998 he built a small portable darkroom styled on a 19th century photographer’s cart, which he uses to travel the country doing demonstrations of the wet-plate process.
