Biography
John Jellicoe was an admiral in the British Royal Navy. He joined as a cadet in 1872. He was promoted to various positions in the navy and served as Commander of the British Grand Fleet, and First Sea Lord during the First World War. In 1918 he was promoted to Viscount and a year later he was made Admiral of the Fleet. He was Governor-General of New Zealand from 1920-1924. On his return to England in 1925 he was promoted to Earl.
