James (Jimmy) Rothery pictured standing in profile on the edge of Rothery Mill's hauler.

Jimmy was the son of Jacob Rothery and his wife Norah (formerly Moloney). He later ran the Whangamomona Hotel but died in the influenza epidemic of 1919, along with his brother-in-law Andrew Riddell who was Postmaster in Whangamomona.

My great Uncle Jimmy Rothery. He later ran the Whangamomona Hotel and sadly died in the flu epidemic of 1919, as did his brother-in-law Andrew Riddell who was the Postmaster in Whangamomona.
