Description
Photograph of Fort Manaia near Hawera. The image depicts various military buildings and mounds of dirt built up to act as protective walls around the fort which appears to be on the top of a hill. Some of the buildings are made of wood while others are thatched buildings. There is a pathway on the left hand side of the image. Two men stand at the centre of the photograph and appear to be occupied with the garden. Elsdon Best's whare is located on the extreme left hand side of the photograph.
