Panorama photograph of the Waihi Redoubt at Normanby. The image depicts a military building (No. 2 Blockhouse) and the boundary fences of the military settlement. There are a number of soldiers peering over the fence with their rifles positioned, ready for an engagement. Rifles can also be seen sticking out of the rifle loop-holes in the walls of the building on the left side of the image. The edges of the mount are decorated with a scalloped design.
