Jennings, William Thomas
Description
As a young man William Thomas Jennings was an apprentice printer at the 'New Zealander' newspaper he moved to other newspaper around New Zealand before returning to become foreman of 'The Star' newspaper in Auckland. Interested in social reform he was an active member of the Auckland Trades and Labour Council and was appointed to the Legislative Council. In 1902 he resigned to contest the Egmont seat which he held until 1908. He also was Member of Parliament in Taumaranui (1908-1911) and Waitomo (1915-1922).
