"First hanger built in one day at New Plymouth airport"
Production date
Apr 1929
Description
First hanger built in one day on Saturday 20 April 1929. Photograph shows the first plane housed in the hanger, which was a Marlborough aeroclub Moth ZK-AAA with Captain Noel Chandler and club secretary CA McDonald. Eight people are seen in front of the aeroplane - two to the far left of the photograph, three in front of the propeller on the nose of the plane, one behind the plane in the hanger and two others standing out in front of it - one to the left and one to the right. The hanger looks as though it is in the middle of a grassy area.
