Description
Two young girls hold up carrots grown at the Meremere School carrot crop - yield was 110 tons per acre - in 1934. Girls are Jean and Betty Williams. One is in a black uniform and the second (on the right - the younger of the two) is in a lighter coloured uniform. There are the tips of the carrots in the foreground of the photograph along the bottom edge of the photograph.
