John Glasford Corbett (Glasfurd is a mistake), having named for Glasford (Glassford), near Glasgow, Scotland. Recorded as a Captain with the Taranaki Military Settlers, date 03 Sep 1863 (assume this was the date he joined, or was appointed Captain). He is also referenced in correspondence (1865-1866) from Lieutenant-Colonel M. Lepper, Commanding Taranaki Military Settlers.
