Donald Holder

Copy negatives of serviceman and Royal New Zealand Air Force Flight Officer Donald Fraser Holder (1922-1944), son of Albert William Holder and Leila Beatrice Holder (nee Burrows) of New Plymouth. Donald was killed in action over Germany on 27 August 1944 and has no known grave but is remembered on the Runnymede War Memorial in Surrey. Donald's brother Stephen William Holder (1919-1978) also served with the RNZAF, taking part in more than 37 operations over Europe in a Lancaster bomber before being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1944.
