Description
Photograph of a parade through central New Plymouth, Devon Street. There is a couple sitting in a cart pulled by a horse in the foreground - the woman holds a parasol. In the centre of the photograph is a large troop of soldiers on horses, possibly cavalry. There are onlookers watching and walking along side the horses. People are gathered on the streets. Buildings can be seen too. The parade might be celebrating the return or leaving of the Boer War/South African War contingent.
