 Description
William (Bill) Frank Ashman (1914-1970) posing with a bicycle beside the Rudge Whitworth Challenge Cup. Ashman won the 145-mile Waimate to Christchurch professional bike race in 1935 but his name is spelt incorrectly on the trophy as 'Ashaman'. He is wearing a prize ribbon or sash for winning the Inglewood Cycle Club's Championship in 1934.
