Description
Studio portrait of Mrs Ann Grylls, wife of Richard Grylls. She is wearing a dress and hat and is sitting on a chair with her right arm resting on table beside her. The table is covered with a tassled table cloth. In her left hand she holds a book which is resting in her lap. A curtain is visible on the left of the photograph. The studio carpet is visible and has a distinctive pattern. Mrs Grylls arrived in New Plymouth on the 'Amelia Thompson' in 1841.
