Pill Machine

Description
A metal hand operated pill machine. It consists of an upright frame resting on a rectangular base. The front of the frame has a platform with a small tapered chute for ingredients which leads to a depression on the top of the frame. A hinged heavily knobbed handle is connected to a punch which is designed to compress the ingredients into a pill. The base has four countersunk screw holes to enable the machine to be secured to a surface. " Wm FRECK CO. CHICAGO /ILL. / U.S.A " is marked on the frame.

This machine was recovered from a Waihi chemist shop in 1953. At the time the chemist who owned it estimated it was over 80 years old.
