Description
A sterling silver Chetwode School badge in the shape of an interlocking " C " and " S ". The letters are ornamented with small carved lines. "ST. SIL" is stamped on the reverse of the badge. There are two small loops on the reverse of the badge for a pin mechanism.

This Chetwode School badge was owned by Mary Russell, who attended the New Plymouth private girls school circa 1914-1917. Her aunt, Edith Stanford, established the school in the 1890s and was headmistress there until she left to become headmistress at St Mary's Diocesan School for Girls' in Stratford in 1919. Chetwode School closed when she left.
