Oral history recording. Charles Frederick (known as Fred) Bird (1913 -1991) owned Bird's Gift Shop in Waitara. In this interview the retired businessman reminisces about life in Waitara including his time in the Rotary Club and Druids Lodge, playing rugby, farming at Bell Block, working in a cheese factory, suffering from rheumatic fever and both world wars.
