Description
Roselyn School, once situated at 186a Tukapa Street, New Plymouth, catered for intellectually handicapped students from the North Taranaki region. Three satellite classes were based in other city schools, under the auspices of the Roselyn School Board of Trustees. Two of these schools assumed total responsibility for the classes with 'stand-alone' status. The remaining satelite unit was based at a local intermediate school. Developmental checklists relating to communication, cognitive and motor development, socialialisation and self help, together with individual education plans for long and short term goals were key aspects of the schools' curriculum management. This collection contains a series of records including pupil registers, log books, committee minute books and formal and informal photographs spanning the life of the school. 1954-1995.
