Four servicemen, sons of George Spencer and Florence Emily Spencer (nee Batten).
From left to right: Eric Spencer (1913-1993), Raymond (Ray) Spencer (1915-2000), David Rex Spencer (known as Rex) (1918-1984) and George Spencer (1911-1967). Not photographed is youngest brother Albert (Bert) Lewis Spencer (1923-2001) who was medically discharged from the army due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash shortly before this portrait was taken - hence the gap left behind Rex and George, so as to be able to insert a separate photograph of Bert later.
