Description
Newton King died 27 July 1927 and his funeral was held on Saturday 30 July.
A truck decorated with a pile of wreaths over 8 feet high, is parked by his house, Brooklands. The Taranaki Daily News reported (1 Aug 2927 p,9) that considering it was winter, "the variety and number of flowers was indeed remarkable," describing it as 'a riot of colour and fragrance".
