Description
The funeral of Newton King (b.1855, d. 27 July 1927). A hearse outside the King house Brooklands. A large crowd gathered to watch the coffin being placed in the hearse. The pall bearers were J. McLeod, J.H. Quillam, R.H. George, W.H. Skinner, W. Healy, Stanley Shaw, R. Cock, A Goldwater, W.J. Gray, H.E. Abraham and R.Howard.
A number of people watching the proceedings from the balcony of the house, possibly family members.
Assembled at Brooklands were the family cars, the Government car and about 40 cars containing Newton King Ltd staff from all parts of Taranaki.
