Colour photograph copied from Frederik (Fred) Johan Harmsen's personal photograph album of an interior view of La Scala restaurant (run by Frank Gibbons and operating 1965-1978) at 186 Devon Street East, New Plymouth. Fred and his wife Ria purchased La Scala in 1978 and refurbished the premises, opening it as City Gate restaurant. Photograph depicts two sun umbrellas inside a section of the restaurant along with a range of pot plants and some sort of rockery.
