Colour photograph copied from Frederik (Fred) Johan Harmsen's personal photograph album of an interior view of the City Gate restaurant (operating 1978-1984) at 186 Devon Street East, New Plymouth. Depicts a view across one portion of the dining room towards the bar that runs across the back wall. Three arches run diagonally through the image. Tables set for guests in the foreground and middleground. Colour scheme is dominated by bold maroon, brown, yellow and orange colours.
