Description
Oral history. Talks of becoming involved in the Little Theatre, early lighting and sound techniques. Present theatre formerly a furniture factory, with Evie Atkinson and Peter Quilliam being the prime movers of this development. They raised the floor and provided extra seating. First play there was "The Haxtons". Technical developments improved, lighting, become an extra player. Microphones on bodies. Mentions Ritchie Poole, Willi Komlos, Jo Young, and various productions. Travelled overseas and saw many professional plays. Saw Sir Lawrence Olivier in "The Entertainer". Describes production crises with "Westside Story". Became Life Member. Backstage crowd very important. Little Theatre now debt free.
