Oral history. Born 1909, New Plymouth. She describes her family and parents farming near Lepperton. The family moved to Tarata when she was three and to Tariki when she was seven. Schooled at Ratapiko she gained proficiency aged 14. At 15 she went to worked in the house for her Aunt, Mrs Fox of Okato. Married Ted at Manaia when she was 20. Talks of courting. They lived in Okato where Ted was a buttermaker. Mentions pastimes and hobbies - golf, sewing. Went to Manaia about 1940 to help on the farm. She describes the shopping centre. Talks of hardships during the war, making their own entertainment, fundraising. Stayed on the farm for about 20 years. Plays Croquet for the Hawera Club. Describes their 65th wedding anniversary.
