Description
A cream-coloured Morley wash boiler used to boil laundry in order to whiten it. The appliance has a lid which can be lifted off to reveal an interior drum. A blue rubber gas hose is connected to the back of the boiler.

1940s
or
1950s.
Gas
boilers
like
these
were
used
to

water
and

before
automatic
washing
machines
become
widespread.
The
founder
of
Morley
Products
was
Hubert
James
Morley,
who
sold
his
company
in
1959.
