Oral history. Born in Normanby, father a farmer on Normanby Rd, and attended Kapuni School. Obtained engineering certificate and worked at Joll Dairy factory. Played rugby at Kaponga. Describes Manaia at the time and Llyod's poultry farm. He was 9 years on Manaia Town Council. Trained at Trentham and away at WWII for 4 years. Returned to taxi driving at Egmont Tourist Motors and then to Pihama factory as Second Assistant. Retired from Kiwi 1976.
