Eight members of Moturoa AFC, the oldest football club in New Plymouth. The Priest Shield rests at the captain's feet, the prize in an annual six-a-side association football tournament.

This is from 1931. And the team is Moturoa. The original copy is at the Moturoa AFC clubroom in New Plymouth. Mr. J.R. Sceats is on the far right. Mr. Gorringe on the far left. Players are; back row from left, R. Roper, R. Johns, A. White. Front from left, A.D. Smith, F. Roper (capt.), J. Anderson.

That is the Priest Shield in the front. It was an annual 6 a side association football tournament in New Plymouth. At this stage (1923-1926) tournaments were played at the racecourse, and Western Park. The logo on the jersey worn by the man in the middle at the back could be Moturoa Island.
