Description
Daguerreotype portrait of an unknown man. He is seated and has one arm resting on the back of the chair while holding gloves. He is wearing trousers, a shirt, a waistcoat and jacket, and has a scarf tied around his neck. He has an object, possibly a looking glass, hanging around his neck. He is looking directly at the camera. The daguerreotype is framed with a textured gold metal matt and is housed in a brown leather case with embossed geometric patterns on the lid. The inside of the case's lid is lined with coloured silk. The case has two hook clasps on the right hand side.
