A naval serviceman, Richard Willcox, standing with his arms behind his back. Eldest son of Paul and Charlotte Willcox of Rahotu. He joined the navy aged 16, his service No. RNZN 1624, and served on H.M.S Achilles seeing action early Dec 1939 in World War Two (II) Battle of the River Plate. He later served on HMNZS Gambia.
