Ambrotype portrait of Reverend Johann Friedrich Riemenschneider. Riemenschneider is seated and holds a book in one hand, which he is resting against a table covered with a pattered table cloth. He is wearing a jacket with a clerical collar. The ambrotype is housed in an embossed leather case with embossed red velvet lining the lid. The image is framed by a metal matt with an embossed metal edge around the matt. The case has two clasps on the right hand side.
