Description
A Royal Bar-Lock typewriter with a vertical type bar and shield that slopes slightly forward. The typewriter features a double keyboard and separate keys for numbers and various symbols. Half of the keys are black with white lettering and the remainder are white with black lettering. "ROYAL BAR-LOCK is embossed in decorative script on the front of the shield. "PATENTED" and "105391" are stamped near the base of the shield. "BY SPECIAL APPOINTMENT TO H.M THE KING/ THE TYPEWRITER CO. LTD/ 12 QUEEN VICTORIA STREET/LONDON/ SOLE LICENSEES FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM,INDIA AND THE COLONIES" is written in gold near the back together with a royal crest. The typewriter has a curved wooden case and rests on a square wooden base.
