Description
Oral history. Born in Florence, schooled and then taught for three years in Italy. Met husband in London who was a painter and decorator from Bell Block. They lived in the United Kingdom for 2 years with Gloria working in a restaurant, then 4 years in Italy, where they married in 1983, before coming to New Zealand. Their two children can understand Italian, and Gloria teaches Italian for 2 hours per week at Polytech and some classes at Girls' High. She also helps at Taranaki Museum. Gloria compares Italian and New Zealand education system, talks about the Matua Garden situation in Wanganui and declares that she likes both countries.
