Microfilm copy of J F Riemenschneider's papers held at Staatsarchiv Bremen.
The papers consist of reports, diaries and correspondence sent by Riemenschneider to the North German Mission Society headquarters in Germany. Most of the text is written in 19th century German with a small number of items written in English. 1843-1866

Born in Germany, Johannes Frederick Riemenschneider was trained as a missionary and was posted to New Zealand. After arriving in Nelson in 1843, he formed the mission at Motukaramu on the Mokau River before moving to Warea and opening a mission there.

In the book " The Parihaka woman" his name was mentioned. The book is about a woman called Erenora who lived in a Moari village called Warea. It says in the book that the manuscript of her writings are lodged in Anglican church archives at St John's Theological College in Auckland , New Zealand. The author of the book is Witi Ihimaera
