Oral history. Mary was schooled in Sri Lanka, migrated at the age of nineteen. Trained as a kindergarten teacher. Married a Sri Lankan she had known from childhood in 1983. Worked at Frankley Rd, Spotswood and Pukekura kindergartens. Speaks of conditions in Sri Lanka both before she emigrated and after a return visit in 1992. Considers her children well integrated.
