Description
Oral history recording. Thomas George Kardos (1919-2012) and his wife Gabrielle Dorothy Kardos (1923-2018) relate their experiences as Hungarian immigrants to New Zealand. The couple recall life and conditions in Hungary under the communist regime and their journey to New Zealand. Thomas and Gabrielle passed through Pahiatua camp in 1949 then lived in Masterton until moving to New Plymouth in 1954 where they both taught at New Plymouth Girls' High School.
